Apple Watch Series 6 in the test
The Apple Watch Series 6 was advertised in October as the latest fitness gadget from Apple with various new functions. I have the Apple Watch Series 6 purchased and tested for a few weeks now. Here is my test report.
Before buying, you can configure an Apple Watch on site in the Apple Store or online. It works great online because you can try out the bracelets with the different cases. As is typical of Apple, the Apple Watch Series 6 was again very nicely packaged. A box that opens almost on its own gives you a "Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), Experience".
Apple Watch Series in comparison

The smartwatch has a great design. Through the Aluminum frame it is also very light and comfortable to wear - especially during sports. It has the same design as the Apple Watch Series 4 and 5. It is in the sizes 40 mm and 44 mm available. In addition, the smartwatch from Apple has a curved display, which is what makes them look great in some designs where the dials go to the edge of the display.
Bracelet | Solo loops
It gets difficult with the new solo loops(that's what Apple calls the bracelets), but Apple also provides a remedy with the help of a strip of paper. Unfortunately they are Original bracelets very expensive. A sports bracelet, for example, costs around 50 €, the nnew braided solo loop is around €100, just like the Milanese bracelet. But there are also good third-party bracelets that I think are okay and a lot cheaper.
Functions & Features
The Apple Watch Series 6 offers some functions that are great for the fitness area on the one hand, but can also simplify everyday life or be useful on the other. These functions include, for example:
The Blood oxygen measurement. It seems relatively useless in everyday life, but it is very helpful in the fitness area. There is also the ECG function. You have to put your index finger on the crown for 30 seconds. The smartwatch creates an EKG, which is very accurate even compared to a professional EKG.
In addition, the fitness watch has a fall detectionwhich can be beneficial for older people who live alone, for example. What I think is really great is that it enables you to get help if you fall. This is particularly useful if you are traveling alone or live alone (e.g. seniors) if there is no response to the fall report within a minute (during this time the Apple smartwatch vibrates very strongly), then an emergency call is automatically triggered and the current location is sent.
You don't have to worry that an alarm will be wrongly triggered at the emergency call center, because an emergency call is only triggered if the alarm is not switched off with a click. Otherwise, the Apple Watch Series 6 naturally has all the features that should not be missing in a fitness watch.
These include Pedometer, Activity detection, various Trainings, Heart Rate Monitor GPS tracker and one altimeter. What I like is if you want to look at the dial daily activity can display.
This is done through 3 activity rings. One stands for calories consumed, the 2nd for Training minutes and the 3rd for the daily standing hours. I also think it's good that you can set your own goals in the Activities app.
I think it's a shame, however, that you only focus on that must limit the stated goals, so calories, training minutes and stand. The steps are displayed and tracked when you click on the app symbol, but you can Do not set your own step goal (e.g. as your own ring). For this you need a Additional app.
I also think it's a shame that the Sleep cannot be tracked. The pulse is measured at night, but you also need one again for light and deep sleep phases, for example Additional app for which you have to take out a monthly subscription. Even at A simple third-party fitness watch gives you this feature without a subscription and this feature is not included in a € 429 smartwatch.
Presentation - clock face
Now for the Watch faces. Apple has many pre-installed that look very good. You can post this configure according to his wishesas many features displayed what should be displayed, where it should be displayed and so on ... there are Loads of possibilities, Also own pictures you can as a background and use the watch face.
The wearing comfort is with the Aluminum variant due to the low weight very pleasant. Depending on which bracelet you use, this is also very pleasant.
Battery | Apple Watch Series 6
The battery of the Apple Watch 6 is really fine. There are fitness watches in which the battery lasts significantly longer (for example Fitbit), but these also don't have as many functions and such a thing Brilliant (always-on) display. The battery life varies depending on how you use the Apple Watch.
If the Fitness watch is always on (with the Always-On Display), then HThe battery ages about 2 days. When the always-on display is switched off, the battery even lasts fbranch twice as long, i.e. approx. 3-4 days and if then the function "Activate display by raising your arm“Is off, it lasts even longer. I think the battery life is really acceptable, and because the smartwatch charges relatively quickly, you can also charge it in between.

- very easy

- Original bracelets very expensive

- Additional app for displaying steps on the watchface
- No goals of your own
And finally ... Apple Watch Series 6
I think the Apple Watch Series 6 is great and I can warmly recommend it. I think it's a shame that the Apple Watch, for example, doesn't have its own sleep tracking and that you can't set your own goals. For example, you can display the current activity status, as well as the battery level, pulse, reminders, and much more. In addition, the Apple Smartwatch gives you access to the AppStore, where you can download many additional apps.
The Apple Watch Series 6 offers many ways to stay fit and monitor your health. The battery is not the best, but it is completely sufficient. Depending on use, the battery lasts between 2 and 5 working days.
