The name Bullrich Salt is a brand name. Kaiser soda is also nothing else than sodium hydrogen carbonate. Bullrich salt is known to most as a mild heartburn remedy. It can be bought as a powder or in tablet form. The remedy neutralizes excess stomach acid, which is often a nuisance after a fatty meal. Even those who want to bring their acid-base balance in the body back into balance after a long feast can support this with Bullrich salt.
Tips and tricks for everything to do with baking soda
Sodium hydrogen carbonate is even more versatile. There are several tips and tricks about baking soda in the household. For decades, salt has been recommended for removing baked-on food residues in pots. Put some powder on the bottom of the pot and some water and boil the whole thing up briefly. After cooling down, the dirt is removed. This is how modern stainless steel and old enamel pots can be cleaned. Even tea and thermos flasks can be cleaned again and vases can be cleaned from the inside. Those who like to cook peas, beans or lentils will soften them faster with a pinch of baking soda.
It also makes cabbage dishes easier to digest. Very acidic foods such as rhubarb or sea buckthorn berries are neutralized with soda. This saves a little sugar during preparation. If you have used too much lemon or vinegar for seasoning, baking soda can soften the acidity. Another positive feature is that the salt can be used to neutralize odors. Bullrich salt helps against bad breath. But simple baking soda neutralizes other smells as well. The tip helps both with the litter box and with musty shoes. Finally, the effect of sodium hydrogen carbonate on ants should be pointed out. If you have too many pests in your garden, you can sprinkle some baking soda on the ants' paths or in their holes in the burrow. The animals bring it into their nest, ingest it and change their pH value. This causes the ants to die. So you can do without poison if there is baking soda in the house.

Overdosing or otherwise incorrectly using the salt can lead to symptoms such as muscle weakness, fatigue and shallow breathing. In this case, an immediate medical evaluation is necessary.
