Why I bought a HS 45

We needed a device that is light, handy and robust. With the nearly 5 kilos can also handle women with it. I chose a model with 45 cm sword length. This is perfectly adequate for our purposes.

The Stihl still has a gimick: on the side, you have a small orange button. If you push it in, the sword turns permanently.

★ Safety: do not let the engine run unattended. At high temperatures and drought, turn it off. Sometimes a bit of heat can be too much for grass etc. and it starts to burn. Never place the hedge trimmer on shaky ground. Keep children and animals and people who have no experience with the device, keep away. ★

Then it can go. As soon as you grasp both safety buttons with the handle, the scissors will start working. Now its light weight is also useful: if the equipment is not so heavy, you have enough gripping power to guide it. This in turn means that you can do clean work well and quickly.

Should you slip off with the hedge trimmer, immediately release the handle.

In addition to hearing protection (which I consider mandatory), you should also buy a cut protection trousers, safety shoes, goggles and gloves.

Why I prefer gasoline (actually)

You can argue about value and utility, especially about our resources. Because if I buy with a battery - powered device, the batteries must first be made and thus several resources are needed and destroyed.
Gasoline engines are somehow "real" and more robust. You can do a lot of those yourself. It also has to, in the understanding of things. To be honest, I even like the smell!
I do not like it too much when the batteries go flat. Or break. Before I go somewhere with the hedge trimmer, I have to consider in advance how much power I need. With a petrol engine, I'll just take the canister with me. Running.
