I dealt with the subject of hot air fryers and was looking for a suitable model for my needs. However, I quickly realized that the market offers a large number of devices. The spectrum of hot air fryers ranges from Philips, LIDL, ALDI, Medion to Tefal. I was skeptical myself whether I even needed such a kitchen appliance, after all, I have an oven. So do I also need a hot air fryer? I let myself be convinced and decided on the model FX100015 from Tafel.

My First impression
I quickly realized that the air fryer is quite heavy and bulky. Due to the dimensions, I initially assigned it a permanent place. Due to its weight and size, it seemed too awkward to stow it away in a cupboard every time when not in use.

You have to say that I always want to start right away and don't want to read the instructions for 20 minutes. A temperature controller is available which regulates the heat between 150 and 200 ° C can be adjusted.
This is rounded off by additional pictures, which are attached directly above the temperature information. This enables frying to be started directly. If you want to prepare baked rolls, I use the lowest temperature, but if I want to prepare French fries, for example, I use the highest temperature setting 200 ° C.
The first time I used the Tefal fryer, I got along very well, it is easy to use and you are not overwhelmed by too many controls.

The first use should initially be carried out without food in order to eliminate possible production materials. Before using the device for the first time, the protective film must be removed from the device to protect it from scratches during transport.
After turning on the device, I noticed that it quickly reached a high temperature. Now I also understand why no preheating is required. Nevertheless, I waited briefly until the control lamp went out and then started filling the heating basket with french fries. In my case it was about 500 grams.
I have my temperature controller on, as the overview requires 200 ° C set. After occasional turning, the French fries ready after 20 minutes be. What struck me is that the outer walls were absolutely heat-resistant during the entire heating process, so you didn't burn your fingers when you touch them. After the fries were ready, I noticed that the cooling time is also very quick. After the fries were ready, I tested small schnitzels. But now to the taste! :)

After I had seasoned the fries halfway through the cooking time, I was now very excited about the result. I strictly adhered to the temperature and time. The fries actually made a very good impression. They were crispy and the seasoning was very tasty. At first I was concerned that the fries would be very soft and "wobbly". However, this concern has not been confirmed. The small schnitzel also turned out very well. When I consider that it would have taken a lot longer in the oven, I'm very satisfied. Both products turned out really tasty!

The fast cooking times are of course a big plus to save time. Another highlight of the device is that no oil is required, it is cooked exclusively with hot air. Not only is this healthier, it also saves oil for other cooking projects.
I have read the Heißluftfritteuse in the test with rolls, potatoes, fish and meat had in use. The device passed with all products. I now use the deep fryer regularly. I just think it's beautiful without oil and preheating to get my finished meal quickly. As a side note it should be mentioned that the device for the reasons mentioned also power saving is. Another plus point is that the power line can be stowed in the device itself. I am basically a fan of the fact that there are not cables lying around everywhere. This is actually a useful addition from Tefal! The cable itself can be extended up to a meter.
As a last great point I would like to mention that the sieve and the collecting pan for the Dishwasher suitable are. Although they take up a lot of space, it is still pleasant not to have to clean them by hand after each use.
